Types of Screen Wire Available

  • Fiberglass

This is the standard form of screening for most doors and windows. It is flexible, affordable, and incredibly easy to work with. We offer fiberglass screening in gray and black color options.

    • Comes in 2 basic colors: Gray and Charcoal
    • This is your very basic screen wire

*Unfortunately it has a tendency to shrink and some bugs will eat small round holes in it.

  • Aluminum (Mill and Charcoal)

Aluminum is a strong screen material that resists the elements as well as sagging over time. We have mill and charcoal-colored aluminum screening available.

    • Comes in 2 basic colors: Bright Aluminum and Charcoal
    • It’s a standard wire
    • (Screen WE recommend if you don’t have a special purpose)
    • Gives a very rich appearance
  • Sunscreen

If you want to have the normal benefits of a screen along with the ability to block out the harmful rays of the sun, sunscreens are your best choice. We have 6 different colors of sunscreens available.

    • Solar control product, blocking up to 70% of the sun's glare and some heat
    • Comes in 4 colors: charcoal, silver, gray, and bronze

*If you live in a new home without any mature trees around you, Sun Screen is a product to consider.

  • Stainless Steel:

Stainless steel is a material that is meant to withstand abuse, thus making it an incredible choice for screen doors or windows. We have 2 different stainless steel screen colors available.

    • Comes in several meshes
    • 16x16 – Used on screens where squirrels, raccoons, and possums are a problem
    • Not impossible to penetrate, but very hard
    • .023 and .028 stainless steel used in our security screens
    • This grade of wire is made to repel bricks and bottles, protecting the glass underneath
  • Bronze

This is one of the most attractive options for a screen. Not only does it provide a beautiful appearance, but bronze screens also are durable.

What your grandfather would call “copper” was actually bronze.

    • Very strong and gives a very rich look

     * After a period of time, Bronze screening will develop a patina and darken

Screen Sections in Stock

The frame around the screen wire is known as the screen section and serves as a convenient way to hold the screen wire, making the screen a usable item. We carry a wide variety of screen sections, including those for window screens, patio screen doors, and security screens, which come in various shapes, thicknesses, and colors.

Screen corners are either made of plastic or metal, with high-quality screens having internal metal corners that are cut at an angle for added strength. Plastic corners are not recommended as they deteriorate quickly under sunlight, making metal corners a better option. Screen sections also come in different gauges, ranging from .017 to .023 wall thickness, with the heavier gauge indicating better quality.

The focus should be on installing the screen without kinking or twisting the frame, not on keeping flies out. Screen sections are produced in two forms: roll form and extruded. For most residential applications, a roll form section is a cheaper and ideal choice, while an extruded section is generally used for larger screens and is more expensive.

Fittings such as clips, springs, and other attachments that hold the screen in the window vary significantly. We stock over 200 different clips, so it's best to bring in a sample to find the best replacement part for your screen. Contact us if you want to install our window and door screens.
