Very Important Packaging Tips
*What is 'appropriate packaging'? The short answer is, "packaging that will ensure your sample survives its trip with the post office or carrier of your choice. If we had a dollar for every regular mailing envelope we've received from customers with a hole torn in it, a note inside, and no part, we'd be rich!
Regular postal envelopes, even with 'hand cancel' written on them, are not designed for anything but documents. If you put your small part--no matter how tiny it is--in a regular postal envelope, there is a 98% chance your sample will be lost. Postal processing equipment gets hung up on envelopes that are bumpy or have hard, three-dimensional items inside. Save yourself some aggravation and send smaller items in padded envelopes that are designed to survive their journey from your home to our shop.
Also, please remember to enclose a note with your part providing us with your name, email and phone numbers so we can contact you. If you don't and we cannot find your email, phone number via the Internet, we will have to put your request aside until we hear from you.
...By sending us a complete sample...
It gives us the best chance to determine if we have what you need or if we can locate it. If you cannot send us a sample, send us a picture [ JPEG format, please!] via email. When you take the picture of your part, please place a tape measure or a ruler beside it so we can get an idea of its dimensions. For items like tilt latches, please send pictures of the front and back of your part.
